Join us on Saturday, October 10 as we care for the grounds around Ka Lanakila Church in Keōmoku Village, a place that holds an important chapter in Lānaʻi’s history.

Keōmoku was once a thriving community, home to many families and plantation workers, with homes, businesses and a sugar mill. At the heart of the community was Ka Lanakila Church, an important gathering place that remains one of the last physical connections to the village and the people who once called Keōmoku home.

By caring for Ka Lanakila and its surrounding grounds, we help preserve the church and the memories, stories and history of the community connected to this place. Join us as we mālama this special site and help ensure its significance continues to be remembered and shared.

We’ll meet at Lānaʻi Culture & Heritage Center before heading to Keōmoku Village. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor work. 4×4 transportation is required.
