Hi‘i Agricultural Heiau

Volunteer with Lāna‘i Culture & Heritage Center at the culturally significant Hi‘i Agricultural Heiau. This stewardship day is part of ongoing efforts to protect and preserve the site, which includes an ancient heiau and remnants of traditional house sites. Join Lānaʻi Culture & Heritage Center in preserving the Hiʻi Agricultural Heiau on Saturday, February 1 from 8:30 to 11 am.  All participants must be able to use their own transportation (4×4 required). If you are unable to access 4×4 transportation, contact Kari Bogner at kari@lanaichc.org for possible carpooling options (not guaranteed). Closed-toe shoes are required t and comfortable clothes to work on the landscape and bring your own water bottle. Work will include outplanting of ʻōhiʻa lehua and ʻaʻaliʻi in addition to weeding. Water refills and snacks will be provided.

All can meet at the flagpole  at the Dole Administration Building at  730 Lānaʻi Avenue before departure. Arrice early to complete a liability waiver form, which will also be emailed to registered participants who sign up.  Sign up is requested for planning purposes and notifications of cancellation due to unforseen circumstances such as inclimate weather.
