Kupulau Festival celebrates conservation
May 2023 - Lāna‘i Culture & Heritage Center's second annual Kupulau Festival celebrated Lāna‘i's precious natural and cultural resources. There were educational booths for all to learn about the biocultural landscape, interactive crafts and opportunities for families to take home native plants.
Stewardship at Ka Lanakila Church
April 2023 - On April 1, 2023 Lāna‘i Culture and Heritage Center volunteers worked to restore Hawai'i's largest dryland forest and Lāna‘i's Ka Lanakila Church. Volunteers helped clean up the church through the removal of invasive plants like kiawe and lantana and fallen debris.
Restoration of Kānepu‘u
March 2023 - Here’s what Lanai’s lovers of land look like. On March 4, 2023 Hawai‘i’s largest native dryland forest got a boost thanks to the Lāna‘i Culture and Heritage Center and volunteers. Fifty native plants were donated.

New virtual exhibit celebrates plantation era centennial
September 2022 - On September 30, 2022 Lāna‘i Culture & Heritage Center (Lāna‘i CHC) launched its first ever virtual exhibit as part of its centennial celebration that commemorates the plantation life that began when the island was purchased by pineapple pioneer James Dole in 1922.
